Part1. Our History
The history of School of Science can be traced back to the year of 1918, when Mr. Tan Kah Kee founded the Teachers Department of Jimei School(the department was dedicated to training educators for the future). In 1994, the Department of Mathematics in the Teachers’ College began offering its undergraduate education. By March 2004, a new era began as the former individual majors of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Information and Computational Science, Applied Physics, and Geographic Information System were unified under the newly established School of Science.

Disciplinary aspect | Ø Received 1 first-class and 2 third-class prizes of Fujian Science and Technology Award Ø The Major of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics has been designated as a national first-class undergraduate program construction site, while the Major of Applied Physics has been designated as a provincial one. Ø The Major of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics(For teacher purpose) has passed the second-level certification of the teacher majors for secondary education by the Ministry of Education, P.R.C. |
