报告摘要： This is a mini-course for graduate students and young algebraists. This course starts with basic knowledge on representations of Lie algebras. I will start reviewing some known results on representations of various finite and infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, including the Virasoro algebra, and Virasoro superalgebras. Then we will present simple smooth representations of some Lie algebras and the Virasoro algebra, including classification of simple smooth modules over the Virasoro algebra, Virasoro superalgebras, and Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra. Its goal is to prepare the students for further study on various Lie algebras and their applications. Lecture 1. Simple Smooth representations of the Virasoro algebraLecture 2. 报告人简介：赵开明，1991年中国科学院系统所博士毕业，先后在美国威斯康辛大学、加拿大滑特鲁大学等多所世界著名大学从事博士后研究，1999年入选中国科学院“百人计划”。现任加拿大罗瑞尔大学教授，兼任中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院研究员、博士生导师，中国科学院“引进国外杰出人才”，《数学进展》、《代数与数论中的发现》、《国际数学与数学科学》等杂志编委，美国《数学评论》、《德国数学文摘》评论员。主要从事李代数、非交换代数、结合代数、可除代数等领域的研究工作。在代数领域国际顶尖学术期刊上发表高水平学术论文120余篇，主持完成3项加拿大研究理事会基金项目、3项中国国家自然科学基金项目，是国际代数学领域有重要影响的专家。
